Default IPC speaker LU-1060

US $717.00

http://cgi.ebay.com/Vintage-IPC-spea...QQcmdZViewItem

This auction is offering a rarely seen IPC LU-1060 Compression Driver with LU-1049 Horn and LU-2027 bracket.

In my reasearch, I have found that IPC had their speakers outsourced through multiple manufacturers. I have verified that they used Altec Lansing and Jensen, and possibly Western Electric as well. Though I cannot be certain, I believe that this equipment is Jensen-made, and dates back to the 1930's.

This speaker was originally installed into a Military outdoor theater. The story was that it was set up and tested to ensure that it worked but they never got to use it. It was removed MANY years ago, and simply stored with the rest of the gear the man obtained there. There was a ton of Simplex/IPC projection equipment, Simplex Voice Of The Theater speakers, and this center channel horn w/ a large folded horn enclosure. The man used the VOTTS, but stored the rest of it for all these years.

This may very well be like new. If not, it has certainly seen many years of rest.

The driver meters dead even at 11 ohms on my meter. It is an 18 ohm driver (see picture with cap off, it is stamped inside).

The horn does have some slight rust on it, as well as some white paint on the back of it. Please look at the pictures.

The sound beautiful and if you have any information that could be helpful to me I would appreciate a message. I am paying ebay the listing fees in the hopes of finding some iformation on the speakers and drivers.

The following is a list of the drivers in each speaker enclosure

M/80 midrange part#c7221

US $7,500.00

http://cgi.ebay.com/JENSEN-G610A-TRI...QQcmdZViewItem

This pair of 610A speakers were removed from the Jensen factory in Punxsutawney PA and were the reference tone source for the entire limited production of the 610A speakers. There are only 252 of these speakersin the world and it is thought that nearly all of them were sold betwenn 1982 and 1985 to customers in Japan. The James F. Novak crossovers are even more rare, I am not sure how many were made. Each speaker has a minor repair and one has an almost imperceptible dimple near the outside. A pair of these speakers without the James Novak crossovers reciently sold for over $7000.00

All speakers are in excellent condition, super clean, no tears or problems.
Adjustable sound from back.
Cabinets are solid and in good condition.
One speaker has some scratches on the surface.
I am not a speaker expert but I will try to answer any questions you might have.
I do know that this set of speakers is extremely rare.

Here we have a weird Jensen high range horn speaker. The bell on the front opens up to over 5" and sticks out about 5" from the speaker front. I have never seen this before and don't know what it was used for but I figure maybe an auditorium speaker or something I am not sure what. You probably know more than I do. If anyone can give me any information as to what it was for I will put it on my ad. It has a place on both sides to hook up wires for different ohms one side says 10 ohms and the other side says 2 1/2 ohms. I checked with a meter and they are not open so it should work. It is not quite as rusty looking as it appears in my pictures and has some old wrinkle finish paint on it. It has a handle on top to pick it up and carry it as it is heavy. It weighs almost 15 pounds before boxing. Check out my other auctions for more weird items that I have for sell right now. Buyer pays exact postage plus $3.00 heavy boxing. Any questions please email me. ThanksOn Aug-19-08 at 06:09:29 PDT, seller added the following information:I have just been informed by another ebayer that this is a tweeter for a Public address system. Thanks for the help
On Aug-19-08 at 09:13:37 PDT, seller added the following information:I was just informed by an ebayer that this Jensen was modeled from the legendary Western Electric Model W E 594A tweeter used in theater sound equipment systems. These are very highly desireable items.

Jensen Sigma Coaxial Speakers - NIB/NOS Excellent! One has been open and sitting on top of the other one. It is a little dusty, but in perfect operating condition. The other one is "new in the box" and they both are "new old stock"!!

You are bidding on a single awesome Jensen Hi-Range Speaker Model Q in excellent cosmetic condition. Model Q was Jensen modeled from the legendary Western Electric Model W E 594A tweeter used in theater sound equipment systems. This is a very highly desirable and collectible HF speaker amongst the serious audiophile and also known as the king of the HF tweeter next to Western Electric 594A. The Field DCR meter reading read 1.122K ohms but the Voice coil is open (NO DCR). The diaphragm (see the last pic) is still nicely intact. I hope someone will be able to fix/recoil and let it sings again. Please see the following pics for more details. Being sold as is.
